KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville couple received national attention after appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” They were recognized for getting all of their Christmas shopping and wrapping done, months before the upcoming holiday.
“We’ve got over 60 in the sunroom and behind us here. We’ve probably got about 30 to 40 gift cards already purchased,” they told Kimmel.
“What do you do on Black Friday? Just sit home and laugh?” Kimmel asked.
“We start on December 26. I don’t like to go out to fight them crowds.”
Jerry and Sheila Robertson say they responded to a post on Kimmel’s Facebook page and were contacted by producers for Tuesday night’s show.
Their house is filled with presents and there are even some decorations up.
“We both grew up in poor families, to be honest,” explained Jerry Robinson, “And we didn’t have very big Christmases. So we spoiled our kids, and our grandkids with humongous Christmases. That’s what we do.”
