Chesterfield residents allowed back in homes after gas leak Tuesday

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities are on scene of an active gas leak in Chesterfield.

Columbia Gas crews are on scene making repairs at Deer Run Drive and Hull Street Road. Deer Run Drive is shut down in both directions but officials say it should be open by 1:30 p.m.

The gas line was cut by construction crews working on the road, according to fire officials.

20 homes in the area were evacuated. Those residents have since been allowed to go back into their homes.
