RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Cloudy skies will remain over us for today as a weather system slowly pushes through central Virginia.
This system will bring us a chance of a passing shower or two, but not an all-day washout. Highs today will be cool as we only climb into the middle 70s.
Our skies will become partly cloudy toward Wednesday morning with lows in the lower 60s. Fall will “officially” arrive Wednesday morning at 4:22 a.m. and we will see partly sunny skies with highs around 80, so it will be a very nice day.
Thursday will start off with sunshine but clouds will increase as a weather system off of the east coast begins to back its way in closer to land. This is the system we have been talking about since last week and it looks more and more like this upcoming weekend will be a washout. As the system backs into the Mid-Atlantic it will spread steadier rain into the region on Friday.
Rain will be with us for Friday night, Saturday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be some periods of steady to heavy rain at times during those days and over the course of the 4 days we could see between 2”-4” of rain with locally heavier amounts in our coastal sections. Our temperatures for Friday, Saturday and Sunday will remain in the lower to middle 70s.
Monday will feature mostly cloudy skies as this system will be slow to depart and we could still have the risk for a few showers. Highs on Monday will top out near 75.
Partly sunny skies should return for Tuesday and Wednesday.
