LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – A Lansing boy’s birthday wishes are about to make national headlines because he’s throwing someone else a party.
A 5th grade student is thanking Lansing Police for the hard work they do.
When it came time for 10-year-old Jeremie Bordua’s birthday this year instead of receiving presents Jeremie asked people to donate money towards a “thank you” party for the Lansing Police Department.
Jeremie and his mother Marcella planned different fundraisers on top of accepting donations, their “Go fund me” page has raised nearly $800 toward their final goal of $5000.
According to the page Jeremie is an aspiring police officer and says he’s heard some mean things about police officers lately and just wants to show his thanks and appreciation.
Jeremie’s story will be featured on “CBS Evening News” tonight during the “On the road with Steve Hartman” segment.
