RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Workers are putting the final touches to the grandstands area downtown right next to the finish line for the UCI Bike Races.
But, if you can’t get in there, there are some other cool spots around town where you can watch the cyclists zoom by.Such as Libby Hill Park, where the cobble stone area near the park will be a grueling uphill portion of the course where you can just sit back and watch cyclists.
Organizers say anywhere on Monument Avenue will also be a prime spot.
One other good watch location Broad Street near Governor Street.
“We don’t only have a front row seat for the race, but we’ve had a front row seat for everything that’s been happening,” said Maggie Smith.
You have to buy tickets for the grandstand area downtown, but organizers stress that more than 90 percent of the viewing locations around the city are free.
