Henrico pursuit into the city results in arrest and long list of charges

Henrico, Va. (WRIC) –  Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding around 2am Sunday morning on I-64 East bound at Dickens. After initially stopping, the driver then fled in his vehicle before eventually stopping in the median at Monument and Belmont.

The driver fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after. No damage to vehicles or injuries. James Tyrone Smith, 26 years old, of Richmond Virginia was arrested and charged with Possess Cocaine, Possess Ecstasy, Felony Elude, Providing False Information, Elude on Foot, Reckless by Speed, Reckless Driving-General, Driving while Operators License is suspended, and an outstanding warrant was also served for Aggravated Assault through Richmond City.henrico pursuit HL

No injuries were reported to suspect or officers involved in this incident.
