The first few days of September will feature some very warm temperatures in the area. I think we are going to see some heat relief by the weekend. In the tropics you have Hurricane Fred, and nothing right now says that he will even come close to the U.S.
Skies will be partly cloudy tonight with overnight lows in the upper 60s and the lower 70s. We could see some late night fog, but that would be after midnight so it would not count as one of those “The numbers of Fogs in August tell you how many snows in the winter you will have” events.
Heat’s on for tomorrow. Partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 80s near the bay to the lower 90s elsewhere. Wednesday is the hottest day of the week, with highs of 90-95. There is a slight chance of a shower in the southern half of the state and over the mountains. Thursday and Friday will be more of the same, with highs of 90-94 and a small risk of a passing thunderstorm.
Over the weekend, a cold front will slip into the area. IF we can get this front to pass to the south of the area we will enjoy very nice weather for the holiday weekend. Skies will be mostly sunny with highs back into the lower to middle 80s and lows in the 60s.
