DOSWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Kings Dominion wants you to get ready to defy gravity on their newest ride: Delirium.
The thrill ride is set to open Spring 2016 in the Candy Apply Grove section of the amusement park.
Officials with KD is a powerful, spinning pendulum. 40 riders will fit in the ride, which faces outward on a giant ring. Riders will begin slowly swinging back and forth with their feet dangling as the ride begins to rotate. The ride then gains momentum quickly and gives riders a 360 degree view of the park. The ride goes up to a height of 115 feet at a maximum arc angle of 120 degrees.
“Thrills come in all different sizes here at Kings Dominion and the addition of Delirium reflects our commitment to providing exciting experiences for our guests,” says Pat Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Kings Dominion. “We pride ourselves on being home to a variety of rides and attractions that offer something for all generations to enjoy. Delirium will make a great addition to our park.”
Construction on Delirium is set to begin this fall.
