Police search for gunman after a shot fired during business transaction

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richkmond Police are saying that a “transaction gone bad” had lead to the detaining of four men in the Fan District on Tuesday. Police are still seeking a fifth person, believed to be the gunman.

According to police, a call was received around 3:30 p.m. of a reported robbery in the 2700 block of Parkwood Avenue.

Responding officers said the caller claimed he and another guy were robbed by two other men. One shot was reportedly fired.

The alleged shooters took off, and were caught near intersection of Monument Avenue and Meadow Street.

No guns found on any of four men detained.

Police say it was a transaction gone bad. Two men reportedly were trying to sell the other pair a cell phone when things escalated.

Charges are pending.
