HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor trailer accident closed lanes on Interstate 295 south.
The 18-wheeler overturned around 5:49 a.m. on I-295 south near U.S. Highway 60. The truck was loaded with 15,000 pounds of potato chips.
The driver of a 2009 Toyota SUV swerved to avoid a construction barrel in the road, changing lanes into the path of a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer swerved to avoid the SUV, causing it to jack-knife and overturn.
There were no injuries reported in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota was charged with making an unsafe lane change.
The road is now back open.
