Community remembers Louisa teen killed in crash

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Louisa community gathered to remember a local teen killed in a car crash last week.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night at Louisa County High School for 18-year-old Michael Phillips.

Police say Phillips was heading north on Belle Meade Road on Wednesday morning when he crossed over into the southbound lane, hitting another car head-on.

The driver of the second car was rushed to the hospital. Amazingly, a one-year-old child in that car was not hurt.

Family members are still organizing funeral arrangements.
