RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Pastor Dan Prugh of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midlothian has been voted Best Youth Leader in Richmond, and if you visit him you’ll see why.
He loves what he does, and a big part of it is working with kids; some as young as six weeks at the church’s child development center.
The pastor was born and raised here in Central Virginia, graduating from L.C. Bird High School before going on to Roanoke College before seminary. He’s a father himself, and he tells us he’s always had a heart for kids.
“That’s what good shepherd is about,” he said. “People, they matter to God, they matter to us and we want them to be loved and that’s what it is all about. So, me getting to know these families and our school getting to know the families is the utmost importance in our lives and we want that to be the case.”
It’s that time of year again when we team up with Richmond Magazine to feature some of the people, places and businesses that you voted “The Best of Richmond.”
