Fundraiser Thursday for Hermitage’s Jaycen King

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — On the day after Thanksgiving in 2014, Hermitage assistant football coach Jaycen King suffered a heart attack. He survived, but due to complications from the event, he is still struggling to return physically to the way he was before it.

For months, King had physical therapy to help with his disability, but his insurance has since canceled that therapy. His family and his team are trying to help fund that therapy to get King back to his previous ability.

Thursday night, the Hermitage Panthers will scrimmage Calvert Hall (MD) at Chester Fritz Stadium on the Hermitage High School campus. The “King Bowl” is a fundraiser for King’s family.

The pre-game warm up starting at 4:30 will feature a CPR demonstration, blood pressure checks, and health and wellness vendors. The game will begin at 6:00 PM. Halftime will feature a 50/50 raffle and a dance fitness demonstration.

There will also be a Community Spirit Award, given to the group that brings the most people. To register your group, contact Sandra Mason at sandra.mason@ricoh-usa.com .
