Virginia’s Johns wants to ‘clear house’ before 2015 season

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — There is no quarterback controversy at the University of Virginia; Matt Johns is QB1.

Members of the media have picked UVA to finish last in the Coastal Division, but Johns believes the team is capable of much more.

“They’re saying we’re going to be last,” Johns said Tuesday, “And we want to make a bowl game and compete for the ACC championship.”

Coming into Spring practice, Johns was still competing with Greyson Lambert. He won the job, and not long after Lambert transferred to the University of Georgia.

Johns is ready for the opportunity.

“Well after last season we wanted to clear house and really just have a new mindset of just work, just work and compete every single day
