RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The thunderstorms that moved through central Virginia early this morning are off of the coast and moving away.
However, clouds will remain for a good portion of the morning hours with some very limited sunshine. It will be warm and humid today with highs in the lower to middle 80s. A weather system will push in from the west during the day and begin to increase the risk of rain after 2 p.m. Another batch of steady to heavy rain and thunderstorms will move in during the late afternoon and evening as that weather system interacts with our humidity.
Rain and thunder will continue into the morning commute on Friday. Unfortunately, it looks like this system will have a tough time clearing the Commonwealth during the day on Friday, so we can expect mainly cloudy skies with occasional showers. It will be warm and slightly humid on Friday with highs around 80. Finally, by Friday evening that system will move out allowing for a very nice looking weekend.
Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny to mainly sunny skies with highs in the middle 80s and lower humidity.
By Monday the heat and humidity will make a return along with partly sunny skies and highs around 90.
Another weather system will bring us a good chance of soaking rains for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.
