Family of 5 displaced after massive Chesterfield house fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Five members of one family have been displaced from their Chesterfield home after a massive house fire Wednesday.

Chesterfield Fire officials responded to the scene at 13600 River Mist Road just after 4:30 p.m.

Everyone that was inside the house got out safely, according to Chesterfield Fire.

Firefighters were unable to go into the house due to intense conditions. They used an elevated apparatus to battle the blaze.

Fire officials say the flames were sparked in the rear of the home.

The Red Cross is now assisting the family.
