Hanover home struck by lightning; hundreds still without power after storms

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — More than 700 people in Hanover are still without power this morning after severe weather rolled into the area last night.

The storm came through fast and left a mess in Hanover.

Lighting struck a house on Jennings Branch Court, setting it on fire. The Hanover Fire Department tells us flames were shooting through the attic when crews arrived around 7:30 Monday night. One person was home at the time, but thankfully made it out in time.
