Police identify man killed in motorcycle crash on I-95 in Henrico

HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — One person was killed Friday morning after a motorcycle crash in Henrico County.

State Police were called to the scene at 6:28 a.m. The crash occurred on I-95 northbound at the 85 mile marker near the I-295 interchange.

Police say the 2004 Victory motorcycle was traveling north on I-95, when it ran off the right side of the road, struck the guardrail and threw the driver about 25 feet down an embankment. The motorcycle continued north on I-95 traveling about 75 feet crossing the road and coming to rest on the left shoulder.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 58-year-old Robert S. Fones of Ford, Virginia. Fones died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
