HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A man is charged for shooting videos up women’s skirts at a west end shopping center and police say it’s not the first time.
Investigators know of at least two victims and suspect there may be more.
A judge on Thursday denied bond for 28-year-old Stephen Ryan Lewis.
The Lancaster, Virginia man is charged with upskirting inside a 7-11 at the Tuckahoe Shopping Center.
Police say Lewis shot video underneath the women’s skirts. According to arrest warrants, at least one of the victims was under age.
He’s charged with a felony for creating an unlawful image of a minor. Lewis also faces a misdemeanor charge for videotaping an adult.
Detectives started investigating after they received a complaint in June. A person reported seeing Lewis upskirting at the 7-11 and provided police with a description of his car and license plate number.
Then yesterday, officers at the 7-11 witnessed it for themselves. That’s when they stepped in and arrested him.
A 7-11 employee tells 8News, Lewis was a regular customer. We’ve learned he works about four minutes from the convenience store. Although, in court this morning, Lewis told the judge he now expects to be fired.
Police believe this have been going on for some time and they are investigating to determine if there are additional victims.
