(WRIC) — The FDA has released new details about the public meeting for Essure permanent birth control scheduled for September 24.
The meeting will be held at FDA White Oak Campus located at 10903 New Hampshire Ave, Bldg. 31, Silver Spring, Maryland 20993.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee will discus the risks and benefits of Bayer Health Care’s Essure system for permanent female sterilization.
More than 4,000 women have complained to the FDA of complications that include severe cramping to a perforated uterus to an allergic reaction.
People will be able to present data, information, or views, orally or in writing, on issues pending before the committee. The FDA is opening a docket for people to submit electronic or written comments regarding this meeting.
