Chesterfield Co. Sheriff’s deputy credited with saving dog from hot car

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Kudos to Sergeant Armstrong with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office for rescuing a dog in a hot car Tuesday!

Sergeant Armstrong found little Lucas the dog left in a car in the county’s court parking lot. Even with the windows cracked, the car reached a sweltering 106 degrees.

Lucas was returned to his owner, who was issued a summons for animal cruelty.
