Man rescued from burning Chesterfield home

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — A police officer rescued a man from a burning home that caught fire late Friday night in Chesterfield.

The first occurred at around 11:45 p.m. in the 10300 block of Elokomin Avenue.

Prior to the fire department’s arrival, a responding police officer pulled an occupant out of a ground floor window.

It took fire crews roughly 20 minutes to mark the fire under control. Fire damage was contained to one room inside the home, although the house did sustain smoke damage throughout.

Fire Marshals determined the fire started in the living room, however the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
