Police Chief responds after RPD H.R. Director posts rant on Facebook

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Human Resources Director at the Richmond Police Department is in hot water after a Facebook post on her personal page about city officers.

On Monday, Antoinette Archer posted this statement to her personal Facebook page, which reads in part:

“It’s your responsibility to ensure that the position you accepted provides for those things.”

The post was referring to expenses like including daycare, a car note, weddings, divorce or death.

The post ended with several hashtags, including: “#Not My Fault You Bought A Mercedes On A Ford Salary, #Wear Payless, #Get A Side Hustle.”

Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham tells 8News:

“It has been brought to my attention statements posted by RPD H.R. Division Chief Antoinette Archer to her personal Facebook page. Due to the concerning nature of those statements, I have directed for this matter to be investigated to ascertain whether city policies have been violated.”
