CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — Cavalier fans who have worried head coach Tony Bennett might be wooed away from Charlottesville in the coming years can breathe a brief sigh of relief.

The Roanoke Times has obtained Bennett’s new, reworked contract and is reporting his new salary has been increased to $2.1 million per year, including $400,000 in base salary and $1.7 million in supplemental compensation.

Also included is a $3 million buyout if Bennett resigns as Virginia’s head basketball coach before March 15th, 2018.

According to the article (which you can see here), the new contract was agreed upon on May 1st.
