The report released Tuesday found customer satisfaction with the fast food restaurant industry dropped 3.8 percent to an average score of 77; that’s the lowest it’s been since 2010.
The ratings are based on nine areas, including the accuracy of food orders, quality of food, restaurant atmosphere, wait staff performance, menu variety and each restaurant’s website. While the entire restaurant industry saw a decline in all nine areas, the study found the average consumer still eats out an average of four meals a week.
Overall, full-service restaurants fared better in reviews than their fast food counterparts. Texas Roadhouse led the pack of full-service restaurants, with a score of 83- one point higher than the average score for full-service restaurants.
Pizza chains suffered the biggest losses, dropping an average of 4.75 index points compared to last year.
