Where to watch fireworks in the Richmond area Saturday night

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Got any plans for the 4th of July?

There will be tons of fireworks displays in Richmond and the surrounding counties tonight.  Here’s a look at the highlights:

Saturday

  • Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Celebration
  • WHEN: 7-9 p.m. on July 4, 2015
  • WHERE: Byrd Park, 1300 Blanton Avenue

Enjoy a free family Fourth of July celebration at Dogwood Dell with Carillon Bells and Richmond Concert Band. Come a bit early to get a seat within the Dell, bring the family and friends, and of course your picnic supper. The concert begins at 7:30pm, just after the Carillon concert. Fireworks at dusk.

  • Chesterfield Fireworks Display
  • WHEN: 5 p.m. on July 4, 2015
  • WHERE: Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, 10300 Courthouse Road

This free event includes a fireworks display at dark, preceded by activities for children, food vendors and special entertainment, including Kings of Swing, the Chesterfield Community Band, Jonathan Austin and Blue Sky Puppet. Due to limited parking, the road leading to the fairgrounds will be closed at 9 p.m. or when the parking lots are filled. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks allowed. Blankets or lawn chairs recommended. Please bring canned food items to donate to the Chesterfield Food Bank.

  • Richmond Flying Squirrel’s Game
  • WHEN: 6:05 p.m. on July 4 and 5, 2015
  • WHERE: The Diamond, 3001 N. Boulevard
  • PRICE: $8-$12

The Flying Squirrels return home on Saturday July 4th to begin a six game “All –American” homestand. A fireworks show is to follow the Richmond Squirrel’s baseball game against the Akron RubberDucks on Saturday. A double feature fireworks show takes place on Sunday, too. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office or click here to buy tickets online.

  • Colonial Heights Firework Display
  • WHEN: 9:15 p.m. on July 4, 2015
  • WHERE: Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area

The City of Colonial Heights will sponsor a fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.   • Goochland Fireworks Display
  • WHEN: 9 p.m. on July 4, 2015
  • WHERE: Goochland Sports Complex, 1800 Sandy Hook Road

Bring the whole family and enjoy a night under the stars with the community’s favorite event of the year. Park & watch the fireworks from Goochland County Administration Building, Goochland Elementary, Middle & High School Complex. Click here to learn more information.

  • Star Spangled Fourth of July Celebration
  • WHERE: Meadow Farm/Crump Park
  • WHEN: 1-5 p.m. on July 4, 2015

Stars are shining and stripes are flying during our annual Fourth of July Celebration! Deck yourself out in red, white and blue and join us for a patriotic parade of color! Enjoy pony rides, crafts, face-painting and more in an area just for kids. Music, games, entertainment and so much more are waiting for you! Concessions will be available for purchase.
