Police: Boy struck by vehicle after dashing into Richmond street; expected to be okay


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A child has been taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck them at the corner of Semmes Avenue and W 27th Street.

Police say that around 9:35 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of West 27th Street and Semmes Avenue for the report of a young child struck by a vehicle. Authorities said a boy was with adult supervision when he reportedly dashed into the street.

The boy struck the side of a passing vehicle (a Ford SUV) on Semmes Avenue and was injured.

The boy was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening.

No charges are expected to be filed.
