(WRIC) — Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson is urging Americans “to be vigilant and prepared” as our country heads into the 4th of July holiday.
Johnson says authorities will adjust security measures as necessary.
The U.S. Embassy in Paris has issued a similar warning to keep everyone safe.
This increase of security in America follows the recent attacks in France, Tunisia, and Kuwait.
France experienced a terroist attack that happened at a gas factory, killing one person and injuring two. In Kuwait a bomb went off at a mosque, killing 27. Tunisia was also under attack when a gunman killed at least 37 people along a beachfront.
