Gun shot wound determined as cause of death in Hanover homicide case

HANOVER CO., Va. (WRIC) — Medical Examiners have determined that Hanover’s homicide victim that was found on Saturday died after suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police found the body of 30-year-old Craig Michael Bates in a private driveway in the 1500 block of Mickie Town Road .

“Known family members have been notified and we ask that you keep the family and friends of Craig Bates in your thoughts and prayers,” Major Mike Trice with Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

There were signs of trauma, according to a release from the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, however the cause of death remains under investigation.
