Goochland County offering free water, cooling center to residents again Monday

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — With more than 500 Dominion Virginia Power customers still in the dark in Goochland County, officials will once again open a cooling center for those needing to beat the heat!

Goochland was hit hard by storms Saturday evening.

Residents in need of drinking water can go to Fire-Rescue Station #5, located at 2710 Fairground Road, to fill their own containers with water. Residents MUST bring their own containers.

Many are also without air conditioning as a result of the outage. Residents in need of a break from the heat or needing to re-charge electronic devices may stop by the same location between the hours of 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for a recharge. The center will close at 8 p.m.

Officials say residents at the cooling center will need to be self-sufficient for food and entertainment.
