Police: ‘Drug deal gone bad’ turns into fatal shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Thursday afternoon.

Police say that a male was shot and killed near the intersection of Roanoke Street and Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond at the Dunston Manor East Apartments.

Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham says the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone bad.

Chief Durham also said that police are now searching for a gray or silver Pontiac heading southbound on Roanoke Street.

Thursday’s fatal shooting makes Richmond’s 12th homicide of 2015.
