Officers respond to fight after J.R. Tucker High School graduation at VCU’s Siegel Center

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Officers were called to respond to VCU’s Siegel Center on Wednesday afternoon after a fight broke out.

VCU Police tell 8News that around 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a courtyard at the Siegel Center, near the intersection of West Broad St. and North Harrison St., for a fight in progress.

J.R. Tucker High School held a graduation ceremony and the fight broke out soon after the ceremony ended.

Five individuals were detained following a physical altercation, police say. 18-year-old Darius Wilks of Henrico and a juvenile male were both charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

Those involved in the altercation were examined and treated by EMS staff for minor injuries and released.
