RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Officials at Virginia Credit Union announced that another skimming device was found on a new ATM location on Thursday.
VACU is already is sending refunds and new debit cards to more than 2,000 members after skimming devices were discovered at the Glenside, Southside and Hanover branches on Wednesday.
Officials said evidence of yet another skimming device was found at the Chester branch on Thursday.
VACU released a new statement Thursday, that reads:
There has been an update to our ATM skimming investigation. We have posted additional information for members on our website and in social media We will continue to post updates here as this situation develops. We now have found evidence of skimming involving an additional ATM location, our Chester Branch. As we mentioned, VACU disrupted an effort by skimmers to place a device at another location, our Hanover Branch. In that incident, the device and card information were recovered. Our investigation is continuing. Members who experience losses due to fraud will have their funds fully restored.
