CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — Funeral arrangements have been made for Morgan R. Rogers and her one-year-old daughter Leah, who were shot to death inside their Chesterfield home last week.
The service will be held this Saturday, June 6, at the Village of Faith Ministries South Campus located at 11000 Hull Street Road in Midlothian.
Dr. Michael J. Jones, who is the cousin of Rogers and her daughter, will be the pastor and deliver the eulogy. Grammy and Stellar award-winning recording artist Ernest Pugh is making a special trip to Richmond to support the family and is expected to perform during the service.
Rogers and her daughter were two of the four innocent people killed during New Kent resident Stafford Shaw’s violent rampage last week.
After shooting Rogers and her daughter inside their home last Friday afternoon, Shaw, who was the estranged boyfriend of Rogers, led police on a pursuit that ended in a massive crash on I-295 in Hanover County. The four-vehicle crash began with Shaw crashing his 1997 Chevrolet Corvette head-on into a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, killing himself and two passengers inside the other vehicle. Two others were injured in the wreck.
