ALBEMARLE, Va. (WRIC) — An Alebmarle County man who went missing last weekend has been found.
Police say Robert Wayne Pippin, who left his home last Sunday evening to go the store in Ruckersville and never returned, was located sometime between 2-2:30 p.m. inside his truck on Rolling Road in Albemarle Co. by an ATV rider.
The good Samaritan, Kelly Morgan, allowed Pippin to call his wife for help.
Pippin was awake and conscious, but very weak, according to a release. He was taken to the hospital by rescue for treatment.
“Again, we are so appreciative to everyone who helped with this search effort. In this case, the community was our greatest resource in locating Mr. Pippin,” Albemarle Co. Police Department Public Information Officer Carter Johnson said in a release. “Having so many extra sets of eyes helping in this search was crucial. This is a perfect example of the importance of a strong partnership between the community and the police department.”
