Richmond honoring fallen soldiers at the Virginia War Memorial

RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) — Richmond is honoring our fallen heroes at the Virginia War Memorial on Monday.

Governor Terry McAuliffe delivered the keynote address.  There was a rifle salute, taps, and fallen heroes were recognized by name.

Four Virginians killed in the line of duty since last Memorial Day have had their pictures and names added to the Wall of Honor at the Virginia war memorial. A tribute to our fallen soldiers, who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The Virginia Memorial Day 5K and 12K will also be held today. More than 750 people are expected to take part in the charity race, including veterans.
