RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Raiders returned to the Coliseum following a three game road trip by defeating the Trenton Freedom 46 – 40.
The Raiders looked to be in control after a 26 – 12 first half performance. Trenton flipped the switch out of the locker room, scoring on two straight pick six interceptions with the Raiders’ backs against the wall.
The outburst was a 15-0 run that lasted 13 minutes of the third quarter.
Once Trenton finally had their first offensive series of the second half, Malik Cromartie went full extension to intercept Freedom QB Sam Panasuk, setting up a 20 yard TD strike from Jonathan Bane to Robert Holland.
Richmond regained the lead 30-27 and didn’t look back. The win is the Raiders third in a row, putting them one game above .500.
The Raiders’ next matchup is a trip to Lehigh Valley to face the Steelhawks on Friday, May 29th.
