RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The thunderstorms from last evening and last night are off of the coast and we will see partly to mostly sunny skies today.
It will still be hot and humid with highs around 90. There is a risk of a few isolated thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening across Central Virginia, with the main threat being quick heavy downpours. The best time frame for any thunderstorms to develop will be between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Our skies will become partly cloudy tonight with lows in the lower 60s and the humidity will begin to break after midnight.
Mainly sunny skies will be over Central Virginia on Wednesday with highs around 80.
A very weak weather system will push north into the region on Thursday from the Tennessee Valley and Carolinas. This system will bring us mainly cloudy skies with the chance of light rain showers during the day. That system will quickly clear the coast and our weather will look fantastic as we head into Memorial Day weekend.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be sunny to mainly sunny with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s by Sunday.
Memorial Day Monday will be partly sunny warm and a little more humid with a chance of some late day thunderstorms.
