POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police have arrested two men responsible for stealing 30 firearms from a pawn shop in Powhatan earlier this week.

The arrests were made after authorities offered at $6,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Law enforcement officials say that early Monday morning, 30 firearms were stolen in a burglary from American Family Pawn, located at 2427 Anderson Highway. Authorities say these firearms “may pose a risk to public safety.”

On Thursday, authorities with the ATF told 8News that Jerrell Broadie and Jonathan Thorne have been arresed and charged with stealing firearms from a licensed dealer.

They are scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday, May 26 for a preliminary and detention hearing.
