WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Minjee Lee blistered the River Course at Kingsmill Sunday with six birdies and an eagle. When play was suspended due to darkness she had a four-stroke lead. A 16th-hold bogey didn’t stop her from coasting to the finish at 15-under for a two-stroke win.
The win at Kingsmill is the first of the Australian rookie’s career. It’s the third time this season a rookie has won an LPGA Tour event.
American rookie Alison Lee led the tournament by four strokes at one point Saturday but faded late in the third round and finished third at 12-under.
So Yeon Ryu of Korea was third at 13-under.
