RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) — On Sunday evening an event is scheduled at the Science Museum of Virginia to acknowledge Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day.
Neurofibromatosis, also called NF, is a genetic disease that can cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body.
Events will start around 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17.
The Science Museum will light up blue and green for NF Awareness.
The Children’s Tumor Foundation will also host a fundraiser on May 23 at Home Team Grill from 2-8 p.m.
There will be live music from The School of Rock and a percentage will be donated to the Children’s Tumor Foundation.
