Afternoon and evening thunderstorms; great Mother’s Day ahead

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — We will have sunny skies to start off your Wednesday and it will be warm and a little more humid today with highs near 85.

A weather system will push in from the north and this will help to kick off some afternoon and evening thunderstorms across all of Central Virginia. The main threat from these storms will be brief heavy downpours. The threat of thunderstorms will diminish after 9 p.m. and our skies will become partly cloudy and it will remain mild with highs around 60.

Thursday will be partly sunny and a little cooler with highs around 80 with lower humidity.



Friday, Saturday and Sunday will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 80’s on Friday and the middle to upper 80’s for Saturday and Sunday.

More humidity will push back into the region for Monday and Tuesday with some scattered showers and thunderstorms and highs in the middle 80’s.
