DENVER, Co. (WKRN) – A 5-year-old boy from Colorado is credited for saving his mom’s life after he called 911 during a medical emergency.
Aydun Byars quickly called 911 when his mother Tarah Gunderlock, who has Type 1 Diabetes, went into a diabetic shock, ABC News reported.
Despite not knowing his address, Aydun was able to get his mother the help she needed.
“I don’t know what mom is doing, but I need someone’s help,” he told the 911 dispatcher. “I don’t know what apartment we live in and I’m not tall enough to reach the doorknob.”
When helped arrived, Tarah was unresponsive. Emergency officials quickly provided her the care she needed.
Tarah told ABC affiliate KMGH-TV that she considers her son a superhero.
“I was a little scared but I was a lot calm,” Aydhun said. “I just didn’t know what to do.”
Aydun also suffers from his own medical issues – a condition that affects his hands.
