RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — We will see mostly sunny skies today in Central Virginia and it will be mild with high temperatures in the lower to middle 70’s.
A few more clouds will increase tonight ahead of our next weather system, which will keep our overnight lows in the middle 50’s.
The next weather system is actually in two parts, one will be an area of clouds and rain off of the east coast, and the second is a weather system dropping in from the Ohio Valley. The area of rain off of the east coast will act as a block so when the Ohio Valley system drops in early Thursday it can’t move through our region. This pattern will hold for Friday too.
So, this means that clouds will quickly thicken up Thursday morning with rain arriving by late morning to early afternoon. The rain might become steadier in the afternoon. It will be a chilly day due to the clouds and showers, so we will only expect highs in the lower 60’s. More clouds and showers will be around on Friday with highs only near 60. The rain will come to an end later Friday afternoon as both of these weather systems finally give way.
This will allow partly sunny skies to return for Saturday with highs around 70.
Mostly sunny skies will be with us Sunday with highs in the upper 70’s.
We look to get a streak of 80 degree weather for Monday through Wednesday with mostly sunny skies.
