FBI assists police in Henrico 7-Eleven armed robbery arrests

HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — The FBI assisted Henrico Police in the investigation of an overnight robbery at a 7-Eleven on Midlothian Turnpike.

Police tell 8News that they were called to the convenience store, located in the 3600 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike, for a commercial robbery. Responding officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the area of the incident and the occupants fled on foot, police say. They were later caught and arrested.

The FBI says they got involved in the robbery because “our Central Virginia Violent Crimes Task Force… focuses on serial, armed commercial robberies.”

The FBI confirmed that two suspects had been arrested on armed robbery charges.

“These suspects are being held pending federal charges,” the agency said.
