Hanover school bus driver charged, 4 sent to hospital after bus rear ends SUV

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Hanover school driver has been charged after an accident this morning.

Police say the bus struck the rear end of another vehicle that was stopped in the lane of traffic waiting to make a left turn just before 8 a.m. Tuesday in the 17000 block of Mountain Road.

Authorities tell 8News that the driver of the school bus was charged with following too close.

Four kids were on the bus at the time of the crash. Three children on the bus were taken to the hospital as a precaution for evaluation.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a local hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
