NASCAR fans brave the rain for race day festivities

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — NASCAR fans from far and wide flooded Richmond for this weekend’s race, and they weren’t about to let a little rain spoil their fun.

All day long, it was a party at Richmond International Raceway.

From corn hole to food and fun, folks can’t get enough of the NASCAR festivities.

Especially Jonathan Mobley, who traveled from Pennsylvania for his first NASCAR race.

“I’ve been to a few baseball games, but nothing like this,” he told 8News reporter Sydney Cameron.

And Mike Johnson, who flew all the way from California.

“Here, you get the smell, the sounds…everything,” Johnson said.

Saturday’s Toyota Owners 400 has been postponed due to rain and rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
