Former Cosby High School basketball standout sentenced to 10 years

Matthew Gorski

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A former Cosby High School standout has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for a crime he has said he doesn’t remember committing.

A judge sentenced Matthew Gorski on Wednesday to 111 years in prison with all but 10 years suspended after he was convicted in November 2014 of abducting and attacking three teens and a 10-year-old girl.

Police said Gorski walked into the garage of a Hampton Park home back in September 2013 and showed three teens and a pre-teen inside a knife before demanding money. The victims, two boys and two girls, ran into a bathroom and locked the door. Investigators said Gorski broke the door down, and then he and the two boys got into a fight as the two girls ran to a neighbor’s home to call 911. He was caught a short time later during a traffic stop.
