RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — At least one person was injured when a canopy blew over at Richmond International Raceway early Thursday afternoon.
Part of Laburnum Avenue outside of the track was closed while crews worked the scene.
Police say that “after the wind caught the canopy it struck a citizen in the head.”
The victim suffered minor injuries. The canopy continued to fly into some power lines in the area. Police say Virginia Dominion Power is on scene restoring power.
