VCU sends all clear after reported “shots fired” on campus Friday morning

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — VCU sent an alert early Friday morning, telling students to stay indoors after shots were fired on the university’s Monroe Park campus.

Officials say that the alert was sent around 4:35 a.m. because VCU Police along with Richmond Police received a report for gunshots in the area of Harrison Street and West Franklin Street.

When police responded, nothing was found on scene.

No injuries were reported in connection to the incident and police say students should resume normal activity. Police have increase patrols in the area.
